The main story was ok. The short stories were kind of like a tease, of a glimpse of potential, but may not come to fruition. They're cut just when you're about to learn more, and the information is limited, so you just make do with what you have. The worst one is probably the imprisoned boy with stuffed toys - I get the feeling that the reason why it's very short is because that is all the information one needs to get in order to understand everything - adding any more won't change a thing.
