It's such a waste

some yaoi's are actually really REALLY good if it wasn't for the fact that some author's feel the need to sprinkle on rape, which sometimes doesn't even do anything for the character development or the plot. They literally just put it in there for what?? and then they make the mc forgive them in like a snap of a finger?? it's so frustrating. I have read SO many good stories where it could have been even better if it weren't for those type of scenes.

these authors wont be able to sleep knowing their works are toxic and r#pe free its frustrating. WHY ruin such good stories? im fine with fucked up stories but why of all things add r#pe?

I think it's about the bubble/orbit of the work, the market of it and a cultural difference.
I Was watching a researcher talking about how cultures and languages reflect on the comics
What configures r*pe in their countries? Who is writing those plots what's their age/gender?
market: those comics sell, people read them, they pay for chapters(web comics style) and books.
The bubble/orbit whose works are those authors reading? What movies animes TV shows other media at all are they consuming? If they only read their colleagues works where the spark of creativity would come from?

You said yaoi(a Japanese term but I'm just generalizing BL M/M comics from asia)
It's sad but unless there's more discussion on the topic on the coutries producing those comics(mostly Japan, China and South Korea) these authors are just trying to pay their bills writing what's popular, both them and their audience need to change
