Thank you for the polite reply! I know I will get pushback on this. My comment is coming from a person who turned 30. I would NEVER date a 20 year old because imo it's too big of a gap in experience and development. Like, why does the mangaka NEED to tell their ages and its always a barely an adult with someone pushing 30 or more. It barely serves the story and I would rather that they would leave the age as mystery then. It would be different if the agegap was with a 27 and 36 year old. 20 is too young imho and its such a common theme in yaoi. I ofc don't know your age or other readers but when youre my age, you would see how creepy it is how common it is in yaoi. Thank you again for being polite even if we disagree!♡
I, like many a fujoshi, love age gaps. But I do dislike other tropes, like for example isekai. However, I think I'm well-adjusted enough not to go to an isekai manga comment section to shit on it with the expectation of being celebrated for my insightful contribution. Thank God we have people like you to remind us that our choices in partner should abide by your personal moral standards. Next time I'll plan on dating a 20yo I'm gonna ring you up to know if it's kosher, 'kay?
As a soon-to-be 30 myself, I agree with you. I would never date a 20 y/o. For me, it's just weird. They're barely legal! TBH I can't even see myself dating a 27yo person lololol. But of course other people might think otherwise.
That's why I prefer stories with same-age characters (i.e. friends to lovers trope). Or at least both of them are adult (40 and 30 yo pairs).
I'll be honest, the agegap is always a bit disappointing to find out. I really dislike it when the younger one is in their early 20s :/
Otherwise I loved the manga.
