What's the difference between hentai and josei?

I swear I've been a weeb since I can remember but I still don't get it

Josei is specifically targeted towards audiences who are women, it's not necessarily a smut. But hentai includes 18+ smut that has a wide audience not gender specified.

How do you not know the difference?

I didn't realize this was on mgg lol. It's a great hentai though.
