I know solo leveling is really liked by many, so I hope you'll find some enjoyment in these, which I listed together by looking for somewhat similar aspects, making sure to keep in mind the "action" aspect. These are listed in the order in which I read them, from most recent to least recent:


1. (Turning back of time, parallel universes, OP MC, independent MC with few allies, end of the world, no system but there are level ups)

MC sees the end of the world with a small group of people, and learns that all of their fighting was not enough. He's really hit hard by the countless lives lost which is one of the reasons I really like this manga- he lives with the trauma of survivor's guilt. He regresses to a time before where he decides to try and be professionally trained by a magical academy that is very discriminatory on people's backgrounds, so that he can be stronger. He does things that does change the future and makes things unexpected happen (which I like because I can't stand when everything in the future happens as it's supposed it). He overcompensates for his survivors guilt by taking every problem on his own despite having allies. No fan service but there are hints of romance and attraction but no confession scenes or nonsensical plots attached to it.

2. This one... I'm so glad i stuck with it

MC basically reawakened but he can only get a skill from the person who kills him. I know my summary is short but I don't know how else to word it that wouldn't spoil anything. I would say definitely give it a read of up to 20 chapters before you make any decisions
The plot got deeper and was unexpected which j liked VERY VERY much!

3. The MC is so badass and he has a military past which makes his coldness and determination understandable. (OP MC, REVENGE)

He assumes the identity of his twin brother who is killed, and seeks revenge for him. He is calculating and he works HARD for his strength. He is independent but does have a few allies and not to fanboy but I just like it very much. The trauma's there and he has to work through things, so do the side characters. It says ongoing but I am a bit confused because from what I last read it seemed completed (very big boss fight)

4.If you like Arrogant MCs: (has leveling system, he basically monopolizes the game and ensures he's on top but he's sneaky about it. He's calculating and smart but he's also a bit reckless.

This is the one for you. It got to a point where I would literally say "shut up" out loud while reading. But his confidence is backed up and I am always interested in how he responds to situations. My one complaint: I wish it showed the antagonist/villains more! Other than that, I like it! If you don't like arrogant MCs please don't read this one you will be frustrated because he definitely has an overinflated sense of self.

Summary: MC was the number one player of a mmrpg, and found himself being constantly targeted by a group of players underneath the guild name of Ragnarok, led by their leader Odin. Despite being very skilled, Odin's group basically pummeled him until he lost his rank status and all of his hard fought items. One day, he wakes up and found he's regressed to three years in the back, in which he places all of his knowledge to use to level as much as possible and be strong. HOWEVER I do like the fact that despite his arrogance he doesn't make his strength known to the whole world like in a lot of stories- he stays independent, basically with no allies. Even in other stories the mc typically befriends people and allies them but this mf doesn't give a fuck haha. There's no worries about fan service or the use of female characters as &plot devices'.

I second this suggestion! This was the first ever story where I actually sought out and read the webnovel of. Give it ten chapters, I beg you, before you make a decision on it!

Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint is chock-full of action, and will keep you in your toes to see what MC does next. It centers around a MC who was one of the only readers who read the end of a novel that took place in a post-apocalyptic setting, featuring scenarios where players advanced. Surprisingly, his world suddenly launches off the apocalypse and he realizes that the novel he read is happening in real time, but since he was the only one who read it, he's the only who is prepared. It does have a very calculating MC who always tries to be a few steps ahead, but his goals are really to survive and see the "end". In order to do that, he has to avoid pissing off the homicidal maniac that is the protagonist of the novel who has already regressed and knows certain hacks that the MC takes advantage of in order to account for his own weakness. I also like the fact that he has a secret weapon: his phone, which contains some of the original novel (because I find mcs who can remember everything a little too OP). You can read it on webtoon, but reaper scans does have the fastest releases I believe!

I personally enjoyed it and read it on webtoon a year back but dropped it due to wanting to wait for the chapter count to grow before returning so that reading felt more natural. At around 200 or so chapters, the length of each chapter gets a little shorter, so just a heads up. A lot of people didn't like that and were very vocal about it unfortunately. I wouldn't say there's a harem but it's made quite obvious that those around him except for his best friend and his best friend's sister, all have a "wow he's a good/strong guy" mini arc.

Okkkk here's my recommendations (most of them won't be similar to solo leveling but they'll be extremely good action + fantasy manhwas and honestly is better than sl)

1. omniscient reader's viewpoint (ORV)

i may be biased cuz im a novel reader but it's absolutely 100% better than solo leveling; part of the holy trinity; the earth has turned into an apocalypse, so to survive, mc finds comrades and becomes strong to protects his team; still got that game system format

it's more than just mc becoming strong and collecting "comrades", mc is charismatic, has that game system format, has dungeons and classes (tho I recommend reading the novel instead, cuz manhwa is a little more comedic)

absolutely 1000% good read, don't drop it cuz of the bad art at the beginning cuz the storyline is so good; it's more than just collecting "comrades", mc, a strong outsider, enters the tower and wants to reach the top, but encounters a lot of obstacles, so he becomes stronger to protect his people

5. sss-class suicide hunter

also way better; has so much depth to the mc, because he took on the burden of saving people and making the world better, he forsaken himself (his persistence is admirable); still has that game system format, dungeons and classes

6. I'm not that kind of talent

gosh the storyline, it's so intense; got nothing similar to sl but I still would recommend as it's really comedic, intense and has good action scenes


7. resurrection of the catastrophic hero

mc was the strongest and was betrayed by a comrade and fell into something similar to abyss, he survived, so now mc is trying to find out who betrayed him, lots of chaos


8. leveling with the gods

mc time travel back before he fell, he tries to climb the tower again, I tagged it with revenge, so it should have some revenge aspect to it; has the game system format and classes

if you just want a lot of action scenes, this is good, but it has been dropped by the author even tho it's also really good; mc is taking revenge against the whole population of bullies or ijins because his twin sis gets implicated due to some rando wanting to join the organization of top ijins

same here - has good and intense action scenes; mc is the top player of a mobile game and gets transmigrated into a newbie account, so to survive he must become stronger; has dungeons and classes, and obvs game system cuz he's in a game
