Actually the author wanted to stop before the assassin dude tried to kill them. They wanted to stop way before this
Sensei is quite senior in the BL industry, I don’t think the company or editor can force her to continue if she didn’t want to. I can feel that she still have love for her characters, just that the storyline was all over the place and she struggle to have character development. I thought maybe she got a different editor or something cos this arc vibe was so different from the previous ones.
Thank you for the update. Tbh, I didn’t enjoy this arc. Memory loss is a difficult storyline to write and I feel that sensei didn’t manage to add anything meaningful to the story with this trope. There were also a lot of cliches and loopholes in this whole arc. I guess the next story arc will be about the father/Maxim and whatever contract Asami signed.
I hope sensei finds a right time to end this story and not to prolong it just because.
