Right? I think it's cuz they take it personally or project on to the characters. Mind you, they're the same ones crying about how it's all fiction and doesn't matter but not when it comes to things they can actually relate to
They're also the ones who get mad when a character isn't a perfect victim who suffers prettily without retaliation. they are also the ones who post lengthy psychological analyses of the story based only on twitter definitions of the terms used and either their absolute lack of reading comprehension or deliberate misreading of the story.
