If you haven't read Yona of the Dawn, I'd definitely recommend it. She has immense character growth thoughout the series though it starts a bit slow. The other characters are very interesting to and the arcs are well developed

Honestly I remember watching that when I was younger and extremely enjoying it. I never ended up finishing it nor do I remember much about it so thank you I’m gonna give reading it a try! And I’m a o kay with slow starts, I adore character development.

i will be the matriarch in this life- still has some romance aspects but mostly focused on her regression and things she is doing to save her family, not sure if i would consider it action but a good read

Actually, the one season they animated was the slowest part of the series. It really ramps up right after the part where the anime ended so even if you wanted to rewatch the series and read right from where it left off that would work too. I'm always so sad the anime didn't continue...
