honestly he’s typical ml, he’s so calculating that it’s annoying. a bit manipulative. it felt like he doesn’t have any feelings and is just using mc but he’s in denial too. he’ll have a moment of clarity very soon and he’s losing his mind bcs of the mc. but to answer your question, he’s a bastard towards his enemy but not much towards mc
also the romance is very scarcely shown in the story, it’s focused more on the whole dungeon situation so i can really say he’s being an awful ml, but he’s more protective of mc than he is of others so i guess he’s a good person
