The fl was backstabbed by her group and kinda left for dead, she was overworked and made to feel as if she wasn't doing enough when in fact she was doing a lot.
The ml (I think it's the ml) came across her when he needed to purchase potions. She accompanied him on his trip because I think she needed to go to his destination too and he could protect her. So in exchange for her care and food, he would protect her on this journey.
