Green flag relationship all the way

Ikrrr this is literally my first time actually liking a fantasy manga ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ almost all of em have those "hard to get" MCs-

The ML literally mind raped her on their first meeting. There’s no way something like that can be called a green flag.

He tried to mind control her which is basically what mind rape is. Not judging anyone who’s into reading that, but that’s literally the opposite of a green flag.

The red flag here is more so the fact that he’s willing to use stuff like mind control at all. I mean, if the only thing preventing him from using it on her would be the fact that she’s his girlfriend, that wouldn’t be much better.

Also, it’s erroneous to use the argument of historical accuracy for what’s supposed to be a romance fantasy.

there are gray characters you know that too? he didnt know shit about her and never harmed the fl after theyve met (they werent even together after their first „official“ encounter but he still remained respectful). even if the ml were a slave boy with mind control abilities it doesnt change the fact he is still a green flag towards HER. n he is nowhere manipulative even tho he HAS those abilities

I mean, sure, if you define green flag as strictly what he does in a relationship that’s alright, but I’m personally looking at a character’s actions as a whole when I debate if he’s a green flag or not.

Imagine being in a relationship with someone who acts wonderfully with you, but is a complete asshole to everyone else. Wouldn’t exactly call that guy green flag material. Though I do get why it’s exciting to read about that archetype, hell, it’s one of my favorite ones.

And lastly, I’d call the guy morally gray if he trusted his power against someone who was genuinely evil, like a corrupt politician that ruined his people’s lives, or a rapist, or someone similar, since mind control in itself is a horrible affront to a person’s dignity, enough for it to be compared to rape (hence it being called mind-rape),

I this case our ML decided to use it against a genuinely well-meaning person, who helped women get proof of their husbands cheating on them for a living.

Which is even ironic in a twisted way, since he basically robbed the FL of her agency and dignity in that scene, when her life’s goal was to help maintain other women’s agency and dignity.

If you still think he’s morally gray/a green flag, I’m not really gonna try to convince you otherwise, there’s people out there who genuinely believe serial killers are morally gray and relationship material and can’t be convinced otherwise.

99% of the time people are gonna stick to their own opinions anyway, especially in an online debate.

He's more of a morally grey character which doesn't make him a red flag
In fact his personality is on the softer side compared to most men in the current time period of the manhwa
The ml is not a complete green flag but hes not toxic, he's not pushy, he's not manipulative and they actually communicate what they 2ant and expect from the relationship
Which is more than I can say for 90% of manhwa rn
