Author knows damn well that would never happen . I guess they needed something to increase the pace of the story but damn. I see two big outcomes... first ML gets extremely protective of MC and open up about his feelings as well (obviously after crying his eyes out) and second, ML will be aware of second ML and get jealous he wasn't his first choice.
