Why do authors like to resort to rape?

Yeah that's the part that had me confused & kinda irritated too. A lot of people defend Ao which Idc if they want to but it's the principles. Like how are you going to get upset at the person who came to save you & low key shame him. That line was very baffling & the whole story is confusing to me because I don't get it sometimes. I'm not bashing the people who love this story but how can you ignore some of the things that don't make sense. That's my opinion so yeah.
