i’m honestly disappointed

i binged this and i want that time i wasted back. they were building up this epic battle and a bittersweet ending with promises of vengeance.

the love triangle…. square?… was dumb. Siyeon, i understand, but that blonde dude crush on Aji was just there to make Doyoon’s character shine

they didn’t avenge Sagi, which i could not understand how calm Aji was around that old man that killed Sagi despite the fact that Sagi’s death was what awakened her mark. WHERE did that rage go?? it just seemed inconsistent

I didn’t like any of the characters in the beginning that much. that red head is weird. why is this grown man crushing on school girls.

that final battle was pathetic. i was not feeling the buildup at all, the king was just some grief-ridden husband and his only crime was abandoning Aji (still horrible)

Siyeon becoming Queen wasn’t a bad touch, I still want that old man dead though. JUSTICE FOR SAGI

i also lowkey wanted Doyoon to die (specifically, get eaten by Aji when she was fighting the king) at the end. disappointed he didn’t. would’ve been angstilicious and a nice touch to the core of his character (wanting to live but dying for Aji). would’ve been romantic, methinks

the only reason i’m not super opposed towards the ending is bc Sagi’s dying words were that he wished he’d discouraged Aji from getting revenge and wants her to live a happy life

Overall: 3/5 stars. Not horrible but not great.
