it's not the past, i think it's the future, the story line of the game which mc has played(?) hasn't started yet so she hasn't meet the prince nor the heroine
I think this is the closest reason. Aside from that, they probably noticed she wasn't fighting back and even if she's a great asset as a King of a country you really wouldn't want anyone stronger than you so... They just faked shit and made a reason to get rid of her （￣へ￣）
