She can never ever believe him as long as the author has control. Not only that but she’s terrified he will talk to lize and suddenly turn on her. It’s much better to never expect anything than to hope and feel betrayed after. She’s just trying her hardest to stay alive and have some semblance of sanity while doing so. It’s going to take time but once the authors hold weakens completely over Jillian, I’m sure she will open her heart to the possibility.
this is tru, just look at what happened to the boat, its not in the story but lize/author made it happen, wouldn't you have second thoughts on things after that?

And now, after ALL the love Killian's been showering her, she backs off when the only thing he wanted were some lovingly words? Even though she loves him? Even after Killian gave his back to his family to protect her? Oh, please...
