Here's my theory... My OPINIONNNN

Since Ranmaru ended up in a historical scene, it has a high chance that Ranmaru or Nobunaga will die and because all the scenes are acted out already or it's in the history, maybe Ranmaru will come back while Nobunaga will be the one who will reincarnate. So likely both will suffer or sorrow

OOORRRRR

both lives but it would not be shown in the og historicy since its in another pov and it does not show Ranmaru there just like what happened in the 'kamisama kiss'.

You get the jist Idk how to explain it properly sorry

Soooo if I understand correctly, the body was never found? (Or like they couldn’t?t identify whatever was left as Nobunaga’s body) so they could totally simulate their death, no?

All I know was that Nobunaga, after he fought & retreats & letting the court ladies escape, he committed seppuku in one of the inner rooms. However Mitsuhide couldn't find his body, so he couldn't prove Nobunaga's death. They probably just assumed his body was burned to ashes along with the rest that was inside?
