Cliff kinda knows about this fact halfway, or maybe from the start, and decides to do them anyways. Because he becomes obsessed with Lize and thinks that helping her do these will make her only turn to him. But ya this is mainly cause her brainwashing got so severe that he couldn’t think of anything rationally and only thought of her :( thankfully he does get out of it tho and deeply regrets his actions :)
