That sounds like bias. But what I've said isn't biased, in the novel Maxi's mother did have trouble conceiving and she had multiple miscarriages before having Maxi. Then her mother died from trying to have more children for the duke, and he remarried to Rosetta's mother who also struggled with pregnancy I believe, who then also died.
Maxi had been through abuse for a long time. Even if after that she was healed physically using magic, but not mentally. Stress, trauma and other mental issues may affect fertility. She also have irregular period. Maybe that's why she's not pregnant yet. Even some who do not have these issues also experience difficulty to conceive

Be it on different kinds of eras, women's reproductive organs are built differently. Some have deeper cervix canal, some have lower uterus, and some could even be affected by their stress levels. And that's just emotions. How much more Maxi having been physically abused? Even if she was healed every time, that doesn't lessen the damage her body had accumulated.
