I think so too!
My theory is that that the dad ran away because the mom was too much for him to handle. Orrr the mom left him and since the Casino was the last place they were together, he stayed there.

I still think the dad might have died form som sort of illness. Cause from all the pic from the diary he seems to be bandaged up.

I went to the ch1 to check if his father ran way from home, leaving Sohan all his debt.
And this cap man appeared in a Casino, asking for money... What makes me think that what I said could no be right, is that Sohan could recognized him right away, so I don't know (⌒▽⌒)
