ehhh i don't rlly like this change from the novel - it's one of the parts i found most interesting and the twist I didn't see coming. it rlly showed the lengths shao qun was willing to go to tie chengxiu down. also I feel like there's just less of an impact if the baby is not chengxiu's - why should he feel obligated to care for some rando's baby?? like i get he's softhearted and all but c'mon.....

    i completely agree! the fact that the child is not chengxiu by blood completely changes the perspective. It was interesting how shao qun was willing to have a child without his blood and make him a heir to all his family inheritance if it meant to keep chengxiu, especially considering how dirty he thought chengxiu was as children and now he is making chengxiu's blood the heir
