From what I remembered, the first few chapters starts out with a gorgeous ancient eastern painting/embroidery art style, and it tells the story of an king/emperor who loves chaos. To help fix this, the ministers invited over a monk who has eyes so pure that looking into his eyes you could almost asscent to nirvana, the evil king decided that he wanted to corrupt the monk's eye and this subjected the monk to all sorts of torture (killing childrens and forcing the monk to watch/burning down the temple) but no matter what, the monk's eye still stay pure until he draws his last breath by the evil king's sword. Another part tells the story of the woman who managed to laid with the king and survive. As the king, he has responsibility pass down his lineage. However every concubine/woman who sleeps with the king always dies. The king enjoys seeing the horrors and terror of their faces when he climaxs, so nobody ever survived a night with the king, until a clever woman who had an idea on how she could survive. She commissioned an artist to draw the "embodiment of hell, pain and suffering" and then discreetly have the artist killed. Then she have a tattoo artist tattoo the artwork on her back, and after that, had him killed as well. On the night of the visit, the woman requested for the king to remove her robe before stabbing her during their intercourse, the king, doesn't think much of it, agrees. When the king was reaching close to climax, he unrobes her and prepares to stab her from her back but when he saw the work tattooed on her back, he immediately came and thus, she was the only woman to ever survived the night with him and became the empress.
This is as far as I could remember, please do let me know if anyone knows anything about this!
