Another fundamental issue I have with Riftan is how he doesn't speak to Maxi directly when she does something he doesn't like. Like, he enters the room and instead of asking her what she's doing, he asks his knights what she's doing there. I don't know if that's his way of managing his anger so as not to take it out on her directly, but it just ends up looking like he's demeaning her. As if it wasn't her decision to be there.
It just goes to show how much he treats her like a child. Like a naive little baby who can't be held responsible for her own actions.
I'm honestly sick of him right now.

For the speaking to her directly part I feel like it is because he thinks it is both the knights fault she is out there (cuz they're usually always swarming her when he walks in lol) and to control himself. I noticed that when he yells at his knights he's yelling and angry like at sir herbaron in this chapter but when he switches to maxi he lowers his voice and calms down a bit. He's probably trying to control himself
