Yeah that makes sense, i was also thinking the same. But honestly it would be nice to know what the characters are thinking and have different povs. I think this is the first manhwa I’m reading where we don’t get to see character’s thoughts
Yea its like a jigsaw puzzle, the author decided the lay out the pieces all scattered and as the story progress, the picture gets formed and put together to we are going to be like "ooohh" and "that's why that happened back then" and "so that's why that person was introduced" etc, etc.
A lot of things are happening without a clear explanation, but what I can gather the mc does not like the creepy disgusting old man, probably because the old man has done some things to the mc for a long time. The old man has favored him from a young age it seems. The old dude was going to send him to a remote cabin after finding out that the mc has been with Mr. Kang, I guess he doesn't like anyone playing with his toys. And because there's probably some bad memories connected to that cabin, the mc intentionally drank the poisoned brand, 1. Because he knew it was poisoned, 2. Because if he's hospitalized, he won't have to leave right away and he would have more time for an escape plan, and 3. His escape plan being mr. Kang. He knows Mr. Kang would protect him or get him away from the old man, not because of anything romantic like but because he needs him for his plan to take over the company or for revenge. He only had two options, the old man or Mr. Kang, and he chose Mr. K. They're both bad options, one is just more tolerable.
