The girl is Wen Xi's servant (when he was still alive) who reincarnated and the professor is her previous lover's reincarnation. In the earlier chapters, Pixiu and Wen Xi helped him pass the National Examinations as a condition for the girl to be reincarnated. They keep appearing in his dream to tutor/teach him stuff.
