So u can’t say it’s cheating cuz this was before he got with the empress. I’m assuming smth happened and they separated and he was forced to marry the empress even tho he loved the elf mama. Smth like that.
Yh apparently her parents loved each other before the dad became the emperor but since the mom is an elf, she couldn't live far away from the world tree else she will die so they had to break up.
