Every banquet must come to an end ~
I think it's fair that every story has an ending. Plus this series has been going for 12 years.

I rather the story has an ending than none at all basically. Take Shirayuki no hime... Awesome shoujo (still is) that sort of faded from the radar because the updates has been slow, the story went off tangent (its not about Shirayuki anymore. Her story with Zen has become secondary.) that many who have loved it and know it from the anime sort off lose interest or forgot about it. From the looks of it that happened in this series as well. Especially during the latest war arc. Anyways the stake are high now, the discrepancy between Yona and her cousin is no more, Yona's love life is already sailing with YonaxHak ship (a mutual relationships no less!). Conflict with neighbors kingdom has been dealt with either in violence or alliance. Zeno is finally seeing the end of his journey. The prophecy is happening etc. This is just speculation.... But the "dragon returning to heaven" must is referring to dragon powers. The other 3 dragon didn't explicitly die and I doubt the author plans to sacrifice them to free Zeno. I'm betting they come back but as just normal humans which imo is the best ending (=won't die young, cure next generation to such fate. Heck who knows maybe the dragon illness disappear as well if the dragon magic thingy goes back to heavens.)

Great point about shirayuki hime. I honestly forgot about it till you mentioned it. I Loved the anime. So I read the manga. I loved that too but after a while the story just felt pointless I didn't really know where it was going and I lost interest to the point where I stopped Che king the updates. I can't remember when I last read a chapter. For me I feel like akatsuki no yona started going "downhill" when they returned to hiryuu castle the whole thing just felt underwhelming.

Same. I stopped checking Shirayuki hime after the author started breaking a secondary couples that was flexed in the last 85% of the story. It kinda made me go "what's the point?" and feared the main couple would suffer the same... they're doing great sure but not doing much progress. I mean 130+ chapters you kinda expect a handful of the court consider Shirayuki a potential candidate for Zen but so far nada. It's worry some considering Shirayuki's achievements. Story is also on hiatus.
As for Akatsuki no Yona def a lot of info dump in the castle arc. Tho for me it's the wars . Idk I think Yona and the company has gone to a handful wars, battles, etc already.. If there was another one and they continue fighting the story will feel like a circle of conflict too. To be honest that would be tiring... The dragons been through a lot already same for Hak and Yona.
