Like he only garnered his attention because he wasn’t meek like the other slaves and then it really cemented it when he was smart and could do the paperwork and such. I’m guessing he paid more attention to him because of those two things. Andddd then he tried to kill him and escaped and it’s like when you loose something your more enthusiastic about finding it and keeping it even if you barely used it previously.
