I agree with everything you said! Also I think it is revolutionary because unlike other BLs it doesn’t fetishize gay men and actually explores love and sexuality, and how it deeply affected Jaehas identity and self worth.
this was easily one of my favorite reads back when the OG one was ongoing and completed so seeing everyone complain now is wild to me ?? haven’t read the remastered but just the original was great imo but i think most of it has to do with the yearning and how poignant the writing feels, including the characters and their struggles with love and moving on.
idk i still feel like it’s a classic to me but maybe it just isn’t revolutionary in the midst of the current year’s BLs
