I was actually thinking the same? Like I know he wanted to better his future but there are breaks? Like they couldn’t meet up while on break nor could they write letters? It’s a good story but yeah, the separation left a sour taste in my mouth
though, it had always been a mystery to me why gene would leave and not be in contact with trevor for more than a decade when he's not even too far away...
