I can definitely see how it might be manipulation but personally I think she's just trying to provide the princess with the kind of help and support she wished she could have had when she was in a similar situation
But it's definitely a possibility that she's intentionally manipulating her tho I can't think of a reason why she'd do that but I guess we'll see in the upcoming chapters :>
I kinda felt like she manipulated the princess but ig if you want to survive in a royal palace you gotta let go of your pure and childish side quickly
