You right, it has to do with conservatives environments where sex and shown interest in it is considered a sin, or treated as a disease....people will still want sex obviously but "pretending" they don't want it will become the norm and a sign of "purity", integrity, or just a normal and expected thing....while someone who act like they want this is seen as a pervert, "desesperated"....just not "sexy" and not relatable for someone who had their sexuality suppressed for a long time....the good thing is that the less conservative less rape culture and fetish...what has been decreasing

I used to be a big fan of Mo Dao Zu Shi. Still love the novel, anime, show, etc. I remember after finishing the main chapters of the novel, it follows to the "extra" chapters where mc is known to have a rape kink. It basically put me off and I couldn't finish the extra chapters. For me the novel ends where they stay together and the "steamy" chapters for the other readers well I'm not reading those yk.
