I get that, but if I was bota I would've fallen for kana as well
if she didnt raise bota, had a huge age gap, or was in love with his dad, i would've ship it too... just 2/3 of these qualities would've been fine.
great story, visually stunning art, etc. but the romantic subplot with bota/kana is weird. kana is at least 14 yers older than bota, he's like 20 and kana is mid to late 30s (despite looking forever 20)... it's concerning. it's prob bc of this that author decided to play it safe and not do anything about this ship, even tho's there was buildup and all. minor detail of bad writing, but ending was heartwarming anyway, so whatever.
