You can try reading it actually, it was like that from my point of view . And we aren't sure if the future Manga will be like that too

So i found the light novel and its different, kinda childish .this one is a little more serious and wayyyy nicer .I would recommend in Manga 100%
What happened in light novel
It wasn't a tournament/competition but just a duel with a Bully
mc learn both fire and water magic ,the female Demon 'likes' him .
In Manga he is hardworking pitiful kid ,he's cute and is innocent.
In LN he's like ....and MC of a harem Manga slowly getting op vibe , he takes everything a bit lightly, not too serious
Here , you can help but like the mc
In LN he's just so-so compared to Manga
I'm so happy they didn't followed the LN because it probably would have been ecchi . Or just feeling like any other common Manga
