A long analysis of this story

Wow, this was a rollercoaster. I remember this book existed so i decided to read it again, and i don’t know if i regret it or love it. I love psychology, So i enjoyed dissecting why Woo acted the way he did. He’s a terrible man, and the author tries to excuse his behavior with how terrible his mother treats him when in reality he is completely dissociated with society. He breaks and builds Minho up. At first he fought it, But as it went it Minho gave up fighting. He tried to get a job to escape his life with Woo, But Woo prevented, Ultimately Causing Minho to lose hope and spiral down into depression. Due to this depression he starts Drinking to numb the pain, Until he’s had enough. Woo is so absolutely sociopathic, He turns Minhos suicide attempt to make it about him, Not Minho. I think the reason He got scared mid way the manhwa was because Minho started Dissociating more often, becoming more emotionally unavailable. And obviously without seeing any clear indication of fear or anxiety or ANY emotion, It left Woo on edge, making him feel like control was slipping out his hands. The scene when Woo breaks down in front of Minho begging for him to live him was interesting. In the beginning he’s an unpredictable monster who’s a ticking time bomb, completely void of any emotion, But as the book goes on he responds to Minho more, Responding to his fear, His sadness, His anger. He responds in normal ways, not like an emotionless monster. He slowly becomes more vulnerable to Minho by responding to him, Putting more of his time on him. I guess you could call this reverse stockholm syndrome? Whatever, He’s showed all his sides to Minho (Most importantly his vulnerable / trusting side). This guy is hardly shows his true feeing to anyone, opting for a stone face in the presence of anyone. He craves Intimacy, He lacks it with his family (mother). So once he’s showed his vulnerability, He feels more intimate with Minho. I guess this lead for him to somehow develop attachment to him, But calling it live would be a stretch. In the ending, Minho loses all hope, Contemplating his life. He’s lost hope of finding a future, finding friends, finding a new life. We can see that obviously throughout his thoughts. But he, similarly to Woo, craves intimacy. Both of them are lonely. While he was being hugged after dropping the wine bottle, He thought (Though, it is nice being comforted). This man has been treated like shit, falling deep into depression and he craves any form of comfort. Some people resort to Self harm, binge eating, and other forms (If you struggle with this, please get help), But for Minho, His form of comfort (?) is Woo. The ending broke my heart Honestly. It was sad to see him fall into such deep depression and despair, and even worse to see him walk away with his abuser, But that’s some times the case with abuse. He’s lost any fight, and Woo is offering Love (Something Minho needs), He sees no other reason why not to go off with him, Even if it means he ends up harming himself more. But that’s just my own opinion, at the end of the day. Would i recommend this as a yaoi? Never. As a Psychological story with a bad ending? 100%. I enjoyed this for the Psychological part, The rest was absolutely horrific. But if you’ve read this far, thanks!!!! (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

you worded this out perfectly I love your comment!! Ppl in the comments are judging whoever read and enjoyed this but honestly, in a psychological way this was so interesting to read and it mostly made sense to me too. Like yeah shitty fucked up situation but exactly as you said sometimes this happens and victim accepts the abuser. Not what we wanted for him but it is what it is; a possible bad ending. I enjoyed reading your analysis !
