I read the novel but it was mtled (it was easy to understand tho) so they were both married in the first timeline just like now but more of coz it was arranged (this timeline ml arranged it himself)..
It's very heartbreaking really, it was full of misunderstandings since uke is downright heavy in wanting to be acknowledged by his "dad" so here are the key things on their prev timeline;
1. Ml was ever suspicious of sejin ever since they got married he always neglected him and shows him how suspicious he is of him. Remember when sejin had a flashback about his heat and Ido told him off not believing suppressants doesn't work on him?That was
A previous memory that really happened. He basically treats Sejin like air in the house. Later on, It wasn't really mentioned in the novel what exactly happened but as time went by, Ido's treatment got better and they got closer hence the sharing of Sejin's likes for flowers, wants to be a perfumer and the french Poem collection but he still refused to knot Sejin which made Sejin's ass dad impatient and unsatisfied so there goes the ordering of stealing the document which he did and so their relationship strained again, Ido turned back to his original treatment.
Worst part of all (if my memory serves me right)
2. This happened during the death (more like wake ig) of the current head (grandpa of Ido) his brother (older I think) went to see Sejin and r*ped him (I believe that was the nightmare Sejin is seeing in the current timeline) BUT!!!!
So, after the whole ordeal, Sejin fled from the house and returned to his apartment, and Ido who followed him there, instead of comforting Sejin, r*aped him too ( freaking b*stard) and marked him..it was a very painful ordeal and worst Ido was degrading him with his words like he seduced the brother and whatnot...
The most shittiest part of all
3. So Ido took Sejin back to their house. It wasn't specified in the novel when Sejin got preggo but I believe he was already pregnant before the r*ape happened with the older brother (older bro knotted him I think) coz it was mentioned that he was pregnant with Ido's baby, but well I think this is another reason when it was found out that Sejin was pregnant, Ido questioned him "is that even my child in ur belly" (mf imma strangle u) coz he never knotted Sejin prior to those events (but author nim emphasized it's Ido's baby)...
And well that was the last straw for Sejin. One day while he was in his room he realized how tired and burn out he is, he went to Ido's study, grabbed the gun and shot himself (I believe Ido saw the whole thing too and he was trying to stop Sejin but Sejin just looked at him dead in the eye and bang).

Thank you so much for the spoilers!! Now I can finally drop this story since my vanilla heart can't take it. If you guys are so strong then continue the story but this is the end for me.
Ngl, i was hoping Ido didn't r*ped him and forcibly marked him, I could have forgiven if he just ignored him since tbh, Sejin was truly working as an agent for his dad (tho he's just a victim, wanting to be loved and acknowledge by the person who adopted him) it was wrong of him to steal the documents...
Hence in the current timeline Ido asked Sejin about what if someone u love tried to steal from you question...Ido didn't know about the abuse Sejin experienced from that house..same with that foster brother who harbors feelings for Sejin...in the whole story, it's Sejin's secretary who showed him care since him and his wife can't have children, he see Sejin as their child (this part made me wish it was secretary who adopted him instead)...
So in this current timeline Ido concocted a faux engagement to Sejin to separate him from that family..He also founded a perfume company for Sejin where Sejin became a CEO and told him to do whatever he wants...Ido tried to make amends but bruh, it won't heal the hurt of the past memory, what's more Sejin remembered all of it and even asked him "why did you that, why didn't he just let him go, why forcibly mark him and so on"... Soooo, the wife chasing arc unfolds but I kind of dropped it after finding out about the whole r*pe shit Ido did.

I think after his death...coz what made Sejin unalive himself (like sort last straw that made him do it) is when Ido throwing nasty remarks that the child isn't his....his death made him regret and whatnot so during their 2nd life, he did a prior investigation of how the adopted family is treating Sejin, the secretary will also play a big role later on coz Ido planned to take revenge on Sejin's adopted father...he designed the faux marriage all for the sake of separating Sejin from that family.
Can someone spoil me about what happen between Ido and Sejin in the past please?
