We're *supposed* to hate the family. The anger towards the Count is because we know she's going to end up with him. But he's a piece of shit. I don't care if he's a historically accurate piece of shit. Why would I want a good person to end up with garbage?
It's true that he also has his own circumstance, but that doesn't justify for what he had done with her (￣へ￣) What wrong is wrong, even if he is pitiful for growing in such environment, he still have money and title (i know it can't fufil all but she doesn't even have that) she is pitiful too, growing up in such family and was mistreated even after out of that house with nobody care (he still have some care for) So what's wrong to hope that she will end up with a better person who knows how to love her better (even though we all know he will change like that) but still ... I don't really support judging which trauma experiences is worst thing then another so I won't comment on that. I also wrote that I know it is not justifying his actions. I don't support him, I wrote that cuz I was thinking people are bashing him a little too much more than those who are worst. it is fantasy after all so I should stop talking about logic. I hate that guy but not to the point where it's more than others who are worst than him. I want her to leave him, that's it. I too want her to find another person.. a lot of people want that too. I understand why people hate the count but, you got to remember his upbringing. also the fact he didn't marry for love. he didn't care about her so of course he won't show any care or empathy to her since to him she was just a placeholder or a blocker he hope to stop woman from coming to him. he is the natural cold hearted person he suppose to be. and remember the fact they are in a era that don't give a shit about woman's suffering. to be honest. it's more realistic if he acted that way. why would he actually care for something he bought to block others? it would be too fake if he cared when he found out when he don't feel anything towards her ya know.
of course I won't say he is in the correct or in the right. im just saying people are hating him overboard a little. why don't u talk about her parents or sister who treated her horribly or the servants. I know the servants are taken care off but the trashy family isn't.
