I think we have all made the same observation. Ethan has changed more than Tristan, his face looks fatter to me and there has been a change in his eyes. What I really noticed the most was their teeth, they look like ghoul teeth...just awful. The author suffered a personal loss a couple years ago and must be still grieving but all the emotions that go along with that, are affecting his work.
I like the story. But the art. Ugh.
