her mother plays a huge part in the story and there's a lot going on in the background that's too complicated to get into but basically she went back to the past bc she was destined to die and wanted to change her fate. they didn't mean to fall in love. he only adopted her bc he made a promise to protect her. kanna suffers a lot but there's no one in the story who endured more pain than alessandre.
and when I say back to the past I mean before she was even born

But still if you want a minor spoiler? She meets Alessandro when she's not born yet thru her mother's body (via possession) so she and Alex fall in love ? There's nothing happening until very very later so her childhood/teenage and adolescent years she keeps it very ethical. Only in her late 20s when she learns about what happened she remembers that she fell in love with him when she possessed her pregnant mother.

Haven't read the novel but nothing would excuse the mistreatment done to mc by her 'non-blood related ' family. No sad past would swipe that under rug. Lets see how the author convinces of them to be a good pair. And won't it be difficult for them to be a couple aside from adoptive father daughter relationship, isn't Alex married and with children in present. Ahh don't see how it could have a happy ending.

The incest spoilers are fake. The incest element is kinda clickbait. Considering its popularity in recent years incest has become an addiction to readers but I'll tell you this This is NOT an INCEST story ( some incest lovers might actually be disappointed lmao). Without spoiling much ill address the main turning off point for some of you that kanna (fl) is not related to Alex( her adopter dad) at all. You'll come to know later when more story is revealed & understand his/her decisions but for now just understand that it's not immoral at all. Idk why ppl without reading novel first are screaming incest
Even some of them who read it and still believe it is incest are misinformed or didn't comprehend the story properly. That's a You problem.
Also there's no ML , since it's a reverse harem story & written amazingly at that, I think it's one of the best writings in recent years on time travel & an actual Reverse Harem without a definite male lead. Also the tragedy & sexual tension are portrayed really well. Idk if it's tagged mature but there's those scenes too.
My two bites : One of my fav pair is Raphael x Kanna....(Who is even the closest to her in bloodline but is not actually her family) Therefore no incest. The Summary is such a click bait and some are really ruining it from spreading their wild imagination. It ruins my mood when someone is discontinuing the story just bc someone said some fake spoiler Anyways it's a very good novel. No wonder it's booming in korea. The author did amazing & artist is talented af they all look so good. Can't wait for my ult Orsini x Kanna story to unfold
