Probably his inner child needed it so it schowed like act of love, in my opini9n they coud be a couple, he had sex with him so maybe he coud be bisexual... but we always can say he only COUDL be.... but i hope in diffrent world in diffrent time who knows
right? we can also see it as his affection for his dead mother being projected to bum as sangwoo sees her in bum... we can have a lot of assumptions as it was not directly portrayed, which gives the ending an essence but i wish the author would directly say, so that we can see it in his perspective.. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Yah no. Sangwoo never loved bum in any way or form, he was just using him for his sick fantasy cuz he looked like his mom. Sangwoo is said by the author to not even be gay lol so romantic/sexual love is right off the table.
I don't think sangwoo was capable of normal love like you and I are. Bro is an absolute psychopath. I think he has an obsession and possessiveness in a sense over bum as well as the comfort bum seemed to give him but not the typical type of love you and I would call love.

I think he had some humanity in him, he was a victim himself before becoming the one harming others. I cried when he died at the end because their story is sad... also, controversial maybe to say but sangwoo is my favorite character in this manhwa because of his complexity. He's incredibly interesting. While this manhwa was ongoing the readers, me included, kept speculating and theorizing about him as the story continued. I still think he had some type of humanity in him!!
i do too, i liked him as a character, its just incredible how the author tried to convey bits of his complicated perception too. and to be honest, i though he survived at least, i just hope they both had proper closure, and that bum will not keep running towards him and let go too..
author-nim... or guys, please tell me.. did or did not sangwoo loved bum? i mean i get the story and background of the characters but, author-nim said that we can know at the last chapter... is sangwoo's act of calling bum a sign of affection or simply his illness?
