Okay I think for starters Dan’s grandma definitely declined in terms of health and the hospital called him to let him know that she probably wouldn’t make it through the night.
I say this because Dan has NEVER prioritized anyone over Jaekyung EXCEPT for his grandma. Meaning that if he were to quit I’m 90% sure that Dan would do it in person as a last show of respect/gratefulness to Jaekyung. Obviously this wasn’t the case this chapter, he just up and left even though he had just witnessed Jaekyung ‘lose’ his first match EVER, and if there’s a time were Dan needs to be present is now— but he’s not.
Now, based on Jaekyung’s reaction, I’m very inclined to say he follows this theory. This is because on the last panel where he asked “what”, the particles around the word were more white with a grey background, this (to me) makes me feel like it was more a question out of genuine concern, than out if anger. Since usually when Jaekyung is angry the overall backgrounds will be black with white to contrast. Never grey.
With this, I want to introduce my next theory.
I think Jaekyung will probably go to the hospital himself. Claiming he wants to pay his respects to the grandmother when really he just wants to see Dan after everything happened. However, I think Dan will be too mentally exhausted to deal with Jaekyungs “usual ways of doing things” and he’s going to snap at him.
Jaekyung will obviously feel like he has done nothing to grant Dan’s anger and will return it 100x fold, which will bring Dan to his utter breaking point.
Then he’ll quit. Jaekyung will obviously let his pride guide him and tell him to be out as soon as possible, but then realizes Dan isn’t bluffing and he’s ACTUALLY gonna leave forever.
I think this is where Jaekyung will get kind of desperate and do things to make Dan stay. Like he’ll change the password to his door or something so Dan can’t get his stuff (mainly his grandma’s wardrobe) and make him do loops and jumps to get the password etc etc. Maybe play into Dan’s feels and purposely act visibly heartbroken over losing the match, get drunk again, and sleep with Dan.
Anyway, you get the point. I can’t wait for what Mingwa is cooking
