Whoa me too!!! I wanna learn and the only ice rink that I know is around the same distance as yours!!! Honestly it's gonna be very expensive. Two way ticket bus, prices for renting skates, price for using the rink, and if you don't have relatives there then there is also cost for staying in budget hotels...... Very very expensive... T^T sorry buts it's not recommended. Unless you go to a university there or maybe a boarding school there that allows students go out on weekends.

Yeah it's expensive but prices for renting skates+rink+coach fee are already included in one packet, so it's kinda cheap and a little expensive to me if I have to compare the lessons fee to another country, and the ice rink is in a shopping mall, so I predict if I go by bus, I'll reach the shopping mall in about 4 hours if nothing goes wrong and learn for 30 minutes and then come back by bus again in one day...(〜￣△￣)〜
Buy a pair of roller blades~ It's really similar to ice skating! You can learn how to balance and control your turns. That way you can practice at home everyday and visit the ice rink when you can. Good luck! :D
Hmmm that cuts the cost a bit but if this goes on for a long term your money and energy is gonna burnout fast. Travelling is already energy consuming as it is.. but go ahead and do your best!!! Btw... I wanna pm you to ask this question but somehow I can't so I'll just ask here.. is the ice rink in Sunway Pyramid? Cos it had too much similarity(in distance and the fact that it is in a mall in a big city) to the ice rink I know sooooo I just take my chance and ask. ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄

Hi guys, after I watched Yuri on Ice, I want to learn ice skating, but there's no any ice rink in my hometown or in my state, and my desire to learn ice skating is really strong.
So I want to ask if it's stupid or okay to learn ice skating where the ice rink is really far away from my place like about 236.5km by bus in weekends and in a big city? ╥﹏╥
