I had a bad feeling thing's going to be more complicated especially one's soon to be married and a very close friend too. They might treat it as a mistake or whatever and then the feeling getting complex. Even though they're both adults. Besides Jay is on and off with the future wife before they decided to marry. He might never consider his feelings to MC more than friends.
