You rarely come across anything that seems “new” or “original” as far as plots go these days. Everything is just used up. We call it trope, but it just means “over used”. So this was a surprisingly fresh concept. Not that there’s never been anything like it, but it was far from “trope”. I feel like the author has a talented imagination.
