Taking this too seriously

I'm terribly aware that this is one of those smut-centered BLs considering the detail of those scenes and how every chapter I see an asshole (literally and metaphorically) so I shouldn't be too critical about this but dear god.

In what world is a rapist any better than a stalker? I know he's the victim, but the father's naivety and daftness is mind boggling. The way he was like, "I'm glad you weren't a random attacker. What you did was vile but..." after the rapist gave his extremely half-assed excuses. What do you mean you're glad? How does him being someone you know make the situation any better? Also it should have stopped at "What you did was vile." Period. No buts.

The rapist being portrayed as a saviour is, plain horrible. I hope the stalker comes back for revenge then they both die and the father and daughter are left alone debt free, but that's not gonna happen. An amusement park chapter is more likely to happen than whatever I said, but it's nice to wish sometimes.

It is, over the years I prayed this story pattern would remain in the old times or at least sizzle out but it keeps re-emerging like a persistent hydra.

Like an unwanted relative. Just can't seem to cut ties with. It's probably because there's people that unironically enjoy it, for better or worse.
