The way they write tropes and change it to their own liking or how they think a trope should be done is absolutely amazing. This trope of "idc about anyone but I kinda like you so" really kinda pisses me off of how much the ml does a 180° on their feelings towards the MC, buttttt in this manga it does feel rush but then again you need to consider that this guy is a dumbass and were just reading his thoughts. He might have already fallen way before and he only started to realize at that very moment so that's why it feels a bit rushed but imo it's was an OK pace. I can see why his feelings changed and how he started to appreciate kaede more as time flew.
