I agree... I just hope that would work. Nagisa is an omega so there might always be the lingering fear that an alpha could take Nagisa away, maybe even by force. I think that's why he's always shown wearing the prominent safety collar.
Being the only beta in a family of alphas - even nice ones, like his family seems to be - would make it much much harder for him to just accept his subordinate position and be happy with his lot, which seems to be what betas are supposed to do. Like I said below somewhere, he has a lot of self-hatred which he has been projecting outwards (it's NOT okay at all that he's been making himself feel better by hurting someone even weaker and more exploited than himself). Now it's turned inwards again and is eating at him so that he wants to die. He let his f'ed up society and his issues make him a bad person, but his story really shows that it's not all roses being an "ordinary" beta.
