I find them cute, but then again the story is pretty cliche tbh, hua cheng is that one guy who’s a practical “romantic” and “cool” and xie lian is that one character who suffers a lot and needs mental and physical help. I find the plot idk, like bland, not js hua cheng but the couple itself

Well, everyone has their own unique tastes and viewpoints. Personally, even after reading numerous BL stories, I still find Hua Cheng incredibly romantic. Maybe it's because I read the novel first, and the way they portray Hua Cheng and his dialogue really captivated me! However, I must admit, Xie Lan is the character who truly fascinates me in the story.

tbh he's hard to read at first but as the story goes on, a lot of the stuff he does and you start to understand it is actually really sweet but everyone has their views on how they view certain actions romantic

To be honest, TGCF was one of the most mesmerizing things I’ve EVER read, though I can only say this for the novels. I’m not a big fan of the manhua nor am I a big fan of the donghua. The way the novels are written is incredibly breathtaking and it goes into the depths of every character. Hua Cheng‘s romantic actions are never portrayed directly, they’re more like showed indirectly and linked to every single thing he did in the past. One thing that will forever be my favourite is Xie Lian‘s character. He’s incredibly well-written and in my opinion one of the most powerful protagonists
