i think its prolly cuz jk is like an asshole up front? I’ve only read roses and champagne so i can only compare that, but since caesar’s personality isn’t as aggressive as jk, as in rude 24/7, i think it blinds the reader to all the bad things caesar has done? if u get what i mean. Tho i do hope most readers who complain abt jk only read non-toxic stories…(sorry for the lack of structure in my explanation)

The fact that its an obvious cash grab lol. The story seems like it was prompted in chat gpt and the author doesn't really give a shit. They only got the "pretty" characters so ppl will simp for their looks and nothing else. Plus, its supposedly a BL (boys LOVE) so romance, but all ive seen is fucking/r*pe and shir writing, and 50+ chapters and NO character development whats so ever? Yeah i dont know how people cant tell its just a shit story for cash cause the authors know what sells.
In some other works at least there was a story to follow+ was interesting and there wasnt r*pe every 3 chapters. Sure theres worse characters but jinx currently is the trending one. Plus in those others stories theres not 50+ chapters of pure NOTHING, the characters change, develop and follow the story.

i think this is exactly it. jaekyung is a cunt ALL THE TIME. like there's no turn off button for this man's intenseness and tantrums. rape aside, he's constantly belittling dan for no goddamn reason. he's always so pissy and has an incredibly short temper with a hair trigger.
doesn't help that jaekyung is physically MUCH bigger than dan, it adds to their terrible dynamic. he could crush dan's head with his large muscles, pair that with such a bad temper and sometimes it feels like he really will just kill dan. he loses himself on the boxing ring enough to permanently damage his opponents' face even after the match is declared over, who can guarantee he won't lose control and beat dan to death?
if you don't understand this, you have most likely never been around bigger men who have short tempers and aren't shy to become physically violent with you. if so, consider yourself lucky.

Probably because..like roses and champagne had a good build up in the beginning.. enemies to lovers..good looking characters and everything and the story was also pretty good going that's the reason for its high rating too I guess...and for jinx jk has been an asshole since the beginning and dan has been the cliche weak mc.People do criticize roses and champagne too now..well there's always people who like stuff like that..not judging them but yeah I also dropped it at this point

In my opinion, both of which you mentioned up there had a solid story to follow and the story wasn't just sex. I'm not denying that the semes were red as fuck but also, there was a story that didnt seem forced, characters had a personality that wasnt 'big strong rich and rude' and they had development within the first season or the first 30+ chapters. Jinx is just, sex, r*pe, oh no sad uke, r*pe, oh no injured shoulder, r*pe, oh no rude seme r*pe. Thats the story. The boxing was showed like twice lmao and the uke did nothing but cry and sob and be pathetic, ive had better oc's and roleplays at age 10 on wattpad and amino. They be giving l*zhin deals to anyone.

but i will say, i am 100% one of those people who shit on jjk. i think jjk is a little (big) bitch and i hate him. but i also hate that blond bitch from R&C. it is very much hypocritical to hate jjk for rape but then like R&C despite the prolonged confinement and rape in that story. like what you like dude, i like a LOT of problematic things. my personal opinion on this is: love whichever character you like, idgaf. suck jaekyung's dick, who cares? but DON'T try to claim jaekyung (or the tops from R&C, CA and so on) never raped dan or never hurt him, because that's just straight up lying. i have more respect for people who say "yeah jjk raped dan, i still like him" than i do for people who say "jjk never raped anyone >:(((("

Lol that’s so true. But then again, POTN has the same amount of hate when it was still starting but then people considered it as one of the best BL stories now. (My god, I find POTN so overrated and overwhelming with hate that I couldn’t bring myself to read a chapter of it) I’m pretty sure people would turn 180 degrees once the story reaches its climax.POTN has gorgeous characters but trashy personalities as well lol.

Although, I just don’t get the people who would hate the story to the deepest of their soul and still read and wait for updates. Like sure, I understand if they only hate jk and still like the flow of the story but hating the story so much to the point of cursing the author but still wait for updates… kinda weird of them.

I also kinda like how the story is not a fairytale type like “I’ll meet a rude and rich man and make him fall/obsess for me” type of wattpad story.Champagne and Roses is an amazing story but very “wattpad” type of a story. Same with Codename. I have been reading those type of stories since my youth so I find slow-slow-slow burn and a sprinkle of realism in my stories now.

big agree on all the above comments, another reason why people hate Jaekyung more is because the mc too imo. Dan is such a weak & meek character while Leewon & Taekjoo from R&C & CA is such a badass character. we all know Dan can't stand a chance against Jaekyung at all even physically at the very least while the other still can get a punch or two. that makes Jaekyung looking more of a bigger asshole than Caesar & Zhenya eventhough they're all equally asshole.

Yes i also think that too. Like Caesa also have a very charming side so people accept more easily that he is a red flag. For me JK is a red flag but not the worst at all, but he doesn't have this charming or more lovely side so the readers can be blind for him. Crazy double standard

I do think that for now the story is cliché and have a lot of red flag, but it's not finished at all. JK is a shitty character, so making him fall in love or develop some feelings for Dan would be out of character. I do think it has potential. JK is a total asshole and an abuser who don't have some crazy bipolar reaction (like Caesar who is all sweet with Lee Won then rape him out of the blu). So it could be interesting to see him becoming a more healthy character without sugar coating everything

Ps: the fact that there is romance who "soothe" the story in other BL don't make them less shitty in the end. It just make it more acceptable morally but in the end abuse is abuse no matter how much romance there is in between. This is the hypocrisis i talk about.
