If you read greek mythology before, you might get the feeling that with stories so detailed, did none of it ever happen? Greek mythology and epics really play with the line between fantasy and reality because the mythology is being treated as if it were science and history. How do we know if these gods and goddesses don’t exist? Hyun min knew they didn’t exist for a fact—until he was literally shown otherwise. If there’s a different world coexisting within ours, we wouldn’t know it existed or how it’s like, but there’s a certain thrill with wanting to believe that there could be so a whole different world out there. I really like how the ending reflects that feeling greek mythology gives you. Everyone reading it thinks it’s a story, but to them, they know it’s real, and the only ones who know the truth in the human world is the friend/author.
